Starting in October 2011, the Central Congregational Church (60 Public Square) opened their doors to us, letting the KPCK use their kitchen and dining area to serve twice-monthly free community meals in Galesburg. We currently serve approximately 150-200 people every dinner, with the help of 30-40 volunteers. We have no religious or political affiliation, all are invited and welcome. We have volunteer chefs who carefully budget and plan fully nutritious meals for every dinner, with vegetarian and vegan options as well.
We are funded by donations from the Galesburg and surrounding communities, through fundraisers & individual, business or organization meal sponsorships. We currently budget $500 to serve 200 people at every meal; all proceeds go to the KPCK’s operational expenses and free community meals (if you wish to make a donation, please click here). All leftover food is either used for the next dinner, or donated to local shelters in Galesburg.
We invite you to explore our website to learn more about the KPCK, attend a free community meal and become involved as a volunteer or donor for the KPCK! Thank you for visiting our website!
