"How do you get the food?" is the most commonly asked question we hear at the KPCK.
And we always answer "We buy it - with the help of donations."
Many think that our food is all donated, but we discovered early that is not the most economical way for the KPCK. Instead, our chefs carefully plan each meal and purchase all of the food we use through different vendors.
The money comes from within the community, which we are very grateful for and appreciative of.
The popularity of our meals has delighted us. We keep growing all of the time. But that means we have been increasing our budget too.
We have a donation page through which we can take credit card donations via PayPal. You don't need a PayPal account to donate, just click on the button. We've also come up with several unique ways to donate, including a Buy a Meal Deal and Yearly Subscriptions.

Thank you for visiting the Knox Prairie Community Kitchen (KPCK). We are a not-for-profit volunteer organization in Galesburg, Illinois dedicated to alleviating local food needs, creating a deeper sense of community and educating about hunger, food insecurity and food policy.
We present twice-monthly free meals at the Central Congregational Church in Galesburg. All are invited and welcome.
In the future, look for educational activities and events in addition to our regular meals.
Announcements about dinners are made via our website, local radio and
newspapers and regularly posted meal schedules at many community
locations.
